Media Release for 
Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)

The Hamilton City Schools is pleased to announce today its continued participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP); under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2024-2025 school year.   

The CEP program allows HCSD to provide breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. This approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.

FREE HEALTH CARE: Families with children eligible for school meals may be eligible for FREE health care coverage through Medicaid and/or Ohio’s Healthy Start & Healthy Families programs. These programs include coverage for doctor visits, immunizations, physicals, prescriptions, dental, vision, mental health, substance abuse and more. Please call 1-800-324-8680 for more information or to request an application. Information can also be found on the web at http://jfs.ohio.gov/ohp/consumers/familychild.stm. Anyone who has an Ohio Medicaid card is already receiving these services.

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:

Feeding and Fueling Learning

Hamilton City Schools' Food Services Department is made up of a dedicated team of food and nutrition professionals focused on our students' health and their ability to learn.  We promise to pour our passion, dedication, knowledge, and enthusiasm into serving each student delicious and nutritious meals every school day.  We believe that proper nutrition during students' school age years can reinforce good eating habits and help pave the way for a lifetime of success and well-being.

Meals and beverages served at schools meet state and federal requirements and are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines.  We provide students with a variety of delicious and nutritious breakfast and lunch options FREE of charge to help meet their daily health and nutrition needs.  We also offer affordable a la carte items at our secondary schools.

The Hamilton City School District’s School Meal Program is a contracted service with Chartwells K-12.
