Marketing & Distribution Request Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in sharing information with our school community. To ensure that our communications are inclusive and accessible to all students, parents, and staff—including those with visual, auditory, or motor disabilities—all digital materials must be ADA-compliant before they can be approved for distribution.
As of April 2026, federal regulations under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act require school districts to ensure that all web content and digital documents meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
Compliance Requirements
To prevent delays in your request, please ensure your materials meet the following criteria:
-
Alt Text: All images and graphics must include descriptive alternative text for screen readers.
-
Color Contrast: Text must have a high contrast ratio against its background (e.g., avoid light yellow text on a white background).
-
Document Structure: PDFs and Word documents must use proper heading structures (H1, H2, etc.) rather than just bolding or enlarging text.
-
No "Text-as-Images": Avoid saving flyers as a single image file (e.g., a JPEG) if they contain important event details. Information must be provided in a readable text format.
-
Video Accessibility: Any video content must include accurate synchronized captions.
For a comprehensive guide on how to create compliant digital content, please visit the official ADA guidance page: ADA.gov: Guidance on Web Accessibility and the ADA
Please note: Requests that do not meet these accessibility standards will be returned for revision. We appreciate your partnership in making our district communications accessible to everyone.
All flyers will be distributed electronically through the district's communication system.
