Return to In-Person Instruction/Extracurriculars return to school

Hamilton City Schools will resume all in-person learning and most extracurricular activities starting Monday, January 24, 2022.

Reminder - Remote Learning Tuesday 1/18/22 through Friday 1/21/22 remote learning days

Reminder: Hamilton City School District will move to Remote Learning beginning Tuesday, January 18, 2022, until Friday, January 21, 2022. We will return to in-person classes on Monday, January 24, 2022.

If your student tests positive for COVID-19 or has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 outside of school please communicate this with your student's school by visiting hcsd.me/reportcovid.

We Can Compare Sets bw

Mrs. Brosius and Mrs. Christian are proud to announce that their students strategized to compare two sets.  Students made rows of M & Ms and made pairs.  They then identified which set had fewer and which set had more.  This was a fun way to reinforce our concept development and math vocabulary!

Kindergarten Gingerbread Day bw

Mrs. Brosius and Mrs. Christian are excited to share that their students had an amazing day of learning on Gingerbread Day!  Students participated in a variety of learning stations where they had to describe a gingerbread man using their five senses, observe why the gingerbread man did not want to get wet, and design the houses. We are #BigBlueontheMove!

Second Grade Community Project bw

Second graders in room 113 at Brookwood Elementary have been working on a community service project for the month of December.  During this project, they discussed what makes a community, why it is important to help others in our community, and how we can make an impact on our community.

Grinch Day in Kindergarten bw

Ms. Rentschler's class, along with the other Kindergarten classes at Brookwood Elementary celebrated Grinch Day by reading "The Grinch" and participating in Grinch themed literacy and math game stations. They absolutely loved it!

 

Math is Fun! bw

Mrs. Brosius and Mrs. Christian are excited to share that their kindergarten students are having fun while learning about math!  Students worked in pairs to relate the terms. more, less, and equal to length/height.  Our math brains are GROWING!

Brookwood Can-Gave and Gave!! bw

Wow Bluejays! We asked you to help us out in our "Can-Giving" and you did just that! We collected cans all week to donate to Serve City, and our collection ended up weighing more than 1,000 pounds!! Thank you so much for your kind hearts and helping others this holiday season! Way to Be Brookwood!

Mrs. Brosius and Mrs. Christian are excited to share that their students are authors.  Each day we work on making our writing skills stronger.  Students were excited to publish their very own books at the end of our writing unit.

Girls on the Run Practice 5K Today! bw

Our Girls on the Run team completed their practice 5K today after school. The girls did an amazing job, we are so proud of them for their hard work and perseverance!

Thanks to all the staff and family members who helped cheer us on! Bring on the 5K in Cincinnati on November 20th! We are ready!

Color Guard Ceremony bw

Today we had an all school assembly for a Color Guard presentation. We had 5th grade readers, a Patriotic song from 4th grade, and two former Bluejays as part of the Color Guard presentation.

Across all grades we have been honoring our Veterans this week at Brookwood. From cards, to a Wall of Honor, to creating banners to send to Veterans, we honor those who have served our country.

We are so proud of our FIVE Bluejay teams that competed today at the Hamilton Intramural Basketball Tournament at Hamilton High School. Everyone gave great effort, showed great sportsmanship, and showed what it means to #BEBROOKWOOD! Our girls team brought home the championship!

Love of Learning bw

This former kindergarten star made a math game for Mrs. Brosius/Mrs. Christian's students to share her love of learning.  It is wonderful to see older bluejays helping younger bluejays to learn and meet their learning goals.  This is a perfect example of what it means to #BeBrookwood!
