Buchanan was my elementary school and I couldn't have had a better school experience. My principal, Mr. Copeland, knew me by name and encouraged me in both the classroom and in all the activities I participated in. I had caring and dedicated teachers each year. From my 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Thompson, to my 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Ittle. Each will live forever in my memories. However, it was my fifth grade teacher Mrs. Urton who encouraged me to think about being a teacher because I had natural talent. What a gift, she nurtured a career and my profession. How can I ever thank all my teachers?

I put my grandson in Kindergarten in 2003. I am so very thankful for Mrs. Bonds, she did so much for him, Jared Tucker. Mrs. Albrecht would talk sports with him and Mrs. Glass also would talk sports with him. He loved it here. Everyday Mrs. Petrovitch would tell him goodbye. I thank everyone at this school and the memories will always be in my heart. I gained so many new friends here, I am thankful!

We have had 2 children attend Buchanan. Our oldest son Ricky started at Buchanan in the 2nd grade. Our youngest son, Jacob, has gone to Buchanan since Kindergarten and luckily has had the chance to complete the 6th grade in Buchanan's last year. Buchanan has been a wonderful school. Over the years, we have gotten to know all of the staff and they have felt like a part of our family helping us raise our kids. Ricky's 2nd grade teacher was Mrs. Goldberg. She was such a great teacher and helped Ricky achieve straight A's. Jacob's kindergarten teacher is the staff member I will miss the most, Mrs. Bonds. She has a wonderful ability to make each and every person feel important and special. Buchanan is a great school beaus of many things especially the size of the school which I feel promotes a family atmosphere. We always felt like part of Buchanan's family. It is so nice to walk into the building and know everyone, teachers, parents, and kids. Goodbye Buchanan!

I love Buchanan school. I will remember all the teachers that have taught my children. My daughter graduated here in 6th grade and my son will graduate from Buchanan this school year. Everyone at Buchanan was great to be around and they made you feel welcome, like one big family. It has been a nice school where my children have made some of their best friends. We will miss this school very much. We live down the street and whatever takes this place I hope that it will be something worth while, like this school. I will miss the fact that my other two children won't get to finish or begin the memories of this school. It is a shame. We will miss this school.

I have loved Buchanan ever since I started kindergarten in 2003 and had Mrs. Bonds. I am very fortunate to have gone to this school and don't ever want to leave. At first, I didn't want to go to school but now I am very glad I did. This school is awesome and I love it. I love all of my teachers too. I wish I could graduate from this school. My aunt, Dewanna Chipman, went to this school and I have had some of her teachers. Unfortunately, she passed away and was only twenty one years old. If I had to choose to stay at this school or go to a new school I would definitely choose here. I moved in second grade and was supposed to go to Van Buren but Mr. Carr let me stay. I want to thank my mom and dad, my teachers, and my friends for helping me. But I especially want to thank myself for never giving up. I will miss Buchanan and it will always hold a place in my heart. Goodbye Buchanan!

I've been at Buchanan ever since kindergarten and I remember all of my teachers and just wanted to say I miss you and love you all. I'm in the 9th grade and soon going to be a 10th grader. I will miss this school so much and will always. I want to say to Mrs. Petrovitch that I love you so much and I will always miss you. Also to Mrs. Litman, I love you both.

My name is Danyell Weisinger. I am writing this letter in memory of my baby sister, Dewanna Chipman. She attended Buchanan Elementary school from 1994-1999, 2nd-6th grade. Dewanna passed away at age twenty one. Buchanan brought her a lot of happiness. Mrs. Thorpe, Mrs. Issenamnn, Mrs. Albrecht, and Mrs. Petrovitch were some of her favorite teachers. She suffered with mental illness her entire life. Buchanan made her feel 'normal'. If she were here today, she would give everyone a big hug and tell them she loves them all.
My sister means the world to me, on behalf of her, I would like to say thank you and you will always have a special place in my heart.

I've been at Buchanan since Kindergarten. My lovely teachers were Mrs. Bonds, Mrs. Albrecht, Mrs. Glass, Mrs. Woods, Mrs. Kirkwood, Mrs. Issenamnn, Mrs. Thorpe and Mrs. Petrovitch. I had Mrs. Thorpe for 2 years. She is a wonderful teacher. I don't want to leave. I want to go to this school until 6th grade. But the new schools will be a new experience. You never know what may happen.

Now age 54 as of 2009. I remember being about 7 or 8 years old when I went to school here. I helped put the safety patrol and put the flag up in the morning. I remember doing the pledge of the allegiance.
Larry Isaac Jr. I went to Buchanan during 80-86. I remember going to Camp Campbell Guard. I remember the paddle and I was the class clown.
Krista Marie (Isaac) Britt 84-91 I remember learning to read here and each year being encouraged to read more. I won a lot of reading contests and one year I was pictures in our local paper for collecting the most cans to recycle. I remember the treats we could buy on Fridays, popcorn!!!! I also remember the Camp Campbell Guard trips.
Brad Isaac 90-93 I was in the special needs classes. Out of all my years in school Buchanan was the only school to really work with me.
Bradley Allen Isaac Jr. 07-09 We were worried about Bradly until he came here. Since being here he has progressed and we are no longer worried.
All of my children have attended Buchanan. It has been wonderful. They have enjoyed it so much, as well as myself. We will all have many special memories of this wonderful school and all of the great teachers.

There are not enough words that could describe my experience at Buchanan over the last three years. To the outstanding teachers that have helped my children in so many ways. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting the imprints of a great education in my children's memories.
