School Board
The Board of Education of the Hamilton City School District
(the Board) is a five member body politic and corporate, as defined by
Section 3313.02, Ohio Revised Code. The Board serves as the taxing
authority, contracting body, policy maker, and ensures that all other
general laws of the State of Ohio are followed in the expenditure of the
District's tax dollars, and approves the annual appropriation
resolution and tax budget.
Meetings are held at the Board of Education Administration Building,
533 Dayton Street. Please call the Superintendent's office at 868-4437
to confirm dates and times as they may change due to conflicts in dates.
The regular meetings of the Board
of Education are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at
7:00 P.M. The meetings shall be held in the Administration Building and
Training Center, 533 Dayton Street, Hamilton,
Ohio.

Dr. Glenn Stitsinger is a life-long resident of Hamilton, Ohio. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1958 and graduated from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He was in private practice in Hamilton for 36 years and is now retired.
He has been a member of the Board of Education since 1986 and has been president seven times. He was instrumental in the renovation and expansion of the high school auditorium. He is a Board representative for the district's Master Plan for Facilities and helped spearhead the drive to rebuild and renovate all the schools in the district.
Active in the community, he is a member and past president of Hamilton Rotary, a member and treasurer of the Senior Citizens Board, and a member of the Hamilton Recreation Commission and a past member of the boards of Fort Hamilton Hospital, Westover, Colonial, and the Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. He is also past president of the Hamilton Jaycees and the Keely Dental Society.
His wife, Joelle, and daughter, Elizabeth, are teachers, and his son Matt works for Ohio University.

George Jonson is a life-long resident of Hamilton, Ohio. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1952 and graduated from The Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He started his law practice in 1962 and is still engaged in practicing law full-time. He was inducted in to the Hamilton City School District's Athletic Hall of Fame.
He served ten years on the Hamilton City Council and has been a member of the Board of Education since 1982 and has been President of the Board six times. He suggested that the Hamilton Rotary Club honor its 75th anniversary by starting the funds to renovate the high school auditorium. He has spearheaded a community drive to build a new high school stadium and install turf field so that more the stadium could be used year round.
He is married to Sophia and has three children and four grandchildren.

Larry Bowling is a life-long resident of Hamilton, Ohio. He graduated from Garfield Senior High School in 1964 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Indianapolis University. He owns and operates Bowling Financial Services. He is a member of First Baptist Church. He was named Hamilton's Citizen of the Year 2006 and was inducted into the Hamilton City School District's Athletic Hall of Fame.
He has been a member of the Board of Education since 1988 and has been President of the Board six times. He has been a Board representative for the district's Master Plan for Facilities, working closely with the Ohio School Facilities Commission.
He is married to Marilyn and has two sons and three grandchildren.

Scott was born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio and graduated Valedictorian of Hamilton High School in 1997. He was enrolled in the Honors Program at The Ohio State University where he graduated Cum Laude in 2001. Scott then graduated from Northern Kentucky University Chase Law School in 2005, before entering private practice. He is the chairperson for the Young Lawyers Committee of the Butler County Bar Association and a volunteer for Hand Me Down Dobes, Inc., a Doberman Pinscher Rescue group.

Anna Harvey is a long time supporter of the Hamilton City School District. she has been involved with the Hamilton high School Boosters club since 1985, being president of this organization for most of the time. In 1986, she received the Outstanding Woman of the Year from the Hamilton Community Women and received the Ohio High School Athletic State Award in 1996. Under her leadership, the boosters have bee avid supporters of all facets of Hamilton High School, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the benefit of students, staff and community. She has spent thousands of hours organizing and volunteering her time to Hamilton High School and Hamilton Freshman School.
She has been a member of the Hamilton City School District since 2002.
Mrs Harvey has two daughters who teach in the District and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Janet Baker - Superintendent
The Superintendent is the chief executive officer of the district, responsible directly to the Board for all education and support operations. Mrs. Janet Baker was appointed as Superintendent on June 16, 1992. Mrs. Baker has been in the profession of education for over 35 years; 3 years as a teacher/librarian, and over 22 years as an administrator. Mrs. Baker has a BS and ME in Education and has taken additional post graduate work at Miami University.
