The students and I talked a lot about communities; what a community is and the different types of communities. From there, the students brainstormed ideas of different businesses, homes, transportation, and natural characteristics to include in their own community. They worked as a class to build and construct their own community based on the information they learned.
Mr. Mundy came to our class to do a STEAM activity with the kids. They were given a robot, a piece of paper, and markers and the students had to experiment and think outside of the box in order to figure out how to turn the robot on, and how to make the robot go from the start to finish. The students were engaged and really enjoyed this STEAM activity!
