The following standardized tests are administered to students attending Hamilton City School District for the 2007-2008 school year:

• Kindergarten Readiness Assessment – Literacy (KRAL)
• Diagnostic Assessments – Grades Kindergarten, 1, 2 and 3
• Iowa Test of Basic Skills – Grades 3, 6 and 9
• Cognitive Abilities Test – Grades 3, 6 and 9
• Pro-Ohio Diagnostics – Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9
(Reading, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies)
• Ohio Achievement Tests as follows:
Grade 3 – Reading and Mathematics
Grade 4 – Reading, Mathematics and Writing
Grade 5 – Reading, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies
Grade 6 – Reading and Mathematics
Grade 7 – Reading, Mathematics and Writing
Grade 8 – Reading, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies
• Ohio Graduation Test – Grades 10, 11 and 12
(Reading, Mathematics, Writing, Science, Social Studies)
• Ohio Ninth Grade Proficiency Test – Previous students who were classified a ninth graders before the end of the 2002-2003 school year and still need to pass part(s) of the test for graduation purposes

Standardized scores from these tests are recorded in the cumulative record of each student and may be reviewed by the parent upon written request to the school. Student performance on tests helps the district to individualize instruction.
