Information regarding Middle School and High School Cheerleading

We hope everyone is doing well and that you are staying healthy and safe. With the closure of all schools this spring, there could not be any tryouts held. We as a coaching staff decided against a virtual tryout, because we put a lot of value on the face to face of clinics. It is the intent of the middle school and high school coaches to hold open tryouts this summer as soon as clearance is given. We will be following the guidance of our district and the OHSAA as we navigate through the summer.

We are hopeful to get the all-clear to proceed on July 1. If that occurs, here are the potential dates for open tryouts:
7/14 and 7/15 for incoming grades 9-12
7/16 thru 7/18 for incoming 7th and 8th graders.

With these potential dates, it is imperative for you to get a physical prior to the open tryout. Please start to make arrangements for that, because we know they may be difficult to obtain due to Covid 19

Tryouts will be very different than they have in the past. With Covid 19, there is a new normal and we are all adjusting to changes. Please understand this would be a very short summer and we will move quickly. There are always expenses tied to cheerleading and those would come due very soon after we start. These are trying times for all of us, but we want to be up front with all the information and expectations.  We will have all information available on district social media as we get closer to being able to proceed with having contact with our teams! We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting the squads going again this summer to prepare for our fall seasons!
