Middle School and Freshman Building
Students at the middle schools and Freshman Building are offered an Honors Language Arts program to develop students with standards based language arts curriculum and gifted program goals. Additionally, Honors classes in math, science, and social studies are offered. These opportunities for excellence encourage students to apply their advanced knowledge and sophisticated problem solving skills to an area of interest. Students who participate in learning experiences such as Power of the Pen, Science Olympiad, Junior Honor Society, Book club, and Show Choir have additional opportunities to interact with intellectual peers, develop expertise in an area of interest, and showcase their accomplishments.
High School
Students at the Hamilton High are offered honors level courses in core subjects and foreign language. The Advanced Placement (AP) program allows students in grades 10-12 to take college level courses for which college credit or advanced standing may be granted. In addition to the accelerated option offered by Honors and AP classes, students may participate in the Post Secondary Educational Options Program to earn college credits. Counselors assist with course and college selection (sponsoring annual College Fairs) and provide information about local, regional, and national enrichment opportunities such as Girls/Boys State and the Martin Essex School for the Gifted.
