This week students in Mr. Grant's class worked on an economics project where the students spent $100 they received for their birthday. The students' choices to spend their money far exceeded their $100 budget. Students had to work with a budget and make difficult economic decisions faced by consumers every day. This activity allowed us to introduce new vocabulary terms, practice computation skills, and the learners began to build financial literacy. Mr. Grant is impressed with the determination shown by his students this early in the school year.
